1. Definitions
- Member / User: any person who uses the Service, whether or not registered or paying.
- Profile: the details, photos and bio-data a Member submits.
- Contact Unlock: the paid feature that lets one Member view another Member’s contact details for a limited time.
2. What Tipda is
Tipda is only an online platform where families can discover profiles and get in touch with each other. We are not a marriage bureau, broker or agent, and we do not arrange, monitor or guarantee any introduction, meeting, match or marriage.
3. Eligibility
- You must have reached the minimum age for marriage under Indian law (18 for a woman, 21 for a man) and legally competent to enter a contract.
- You must not be prohibited by any law, court order or competent authority from entering a marriage.
- A parent or guardian may create a profile on behalf of an eligible family member and is responsible for it.
- You must use Tipda only with a genuine intention of a lawful matrimonial alliance — not for dating, advertising, or any other purpose.
4. Your account
- All information you give must be true, accurate and current. Fake, misleading or impersonating profiles are not allowed.
- One person, one profile. Duplicate profiles may be removed.
- You are responsible for keeping your login (email, password or Google account) and your device secure. Activity under your account is treated as yours.
- Your sign-in email is the email you registered with and is verified by a code at registration; it cannot be changed in the app. You can also sign in with your verified primary mobile number (see Contact numbers). If you need help with your account, write to us.
- Your account is personal and cannot be transferred or shared.
5. Profile review and verification
- Every profile and every change to it is checked by automated text checks and by our team before it becomes visible to other Members. We may reject, hold, hide or remove any content at our sole discretion, with or without a reason.
- A “verified” mark means our team has confirmed that a contact number belongs to the Member at the time of checking. It is not a guarantee of a person’s identity, character, background, marital status or intentions.
- We verify the email, mobile numbers and WhatsApp number you give us — so provide only real details. The contact details on your profile are revealed to every Member who unlocks it; only verified numbers are shown to them.
- We may ask you for proof to confirm information. Failure to provide it may lead to removal.
- What review does and does not mean. Our review checks that content is appropriate for the platform (no abuse, contact details in the wrong place, obvious spam). It does not confirm that anything a Member says about themselves is true. Only the email address and the contact numbers are confirmed by us, and only at the time of checking. See Your responsibility to verify.
Contact numbers: primary, secondary and WhatsApp
- Primary number. The mobile number you register with is your primary number. Once our team has verified it, it is locked: it is your mobile sign-in number and it cannot be edited in the app. If you lose that number, open Settings (☰) → Account → Edit Contact Details in the app and request a change (a one-line reason is enough; no password is asked); we confirm it is really you (by your other verified number or your registered email) before the number can be changed. You may cancel the request at any time, even after we have approved it — your old verified number then simply stays, with no new verification. A new change request can be made at most once every 30 days.
- Secondary number. After your primary number is verified you may add one more mobile number, for example a parent’s. It is optional, verified by a call, and shown to Members who unlock you only after verification.
- WhatsApp number. Any number, including your primary. Optional, verified by our team before it is shown. Choosing “same as my primary number” is always allowed once the primary is verified and does not count as a change.
- Where numbers are changed. Profile → Contact Details shows your numbers and lets you add a secondary or WhatsApp number once. All later changes are made from Settings (☰) → Account → Edit Contact Details, under the limits below. At any time you can revert a number to the last one we verified for you; that needs no new verification.
- Shared family numbers are fine. A secondary or WhatsApp number may be the same on several accounts (for example two siblings giving their father’s number). Only a verified primary number is unique: it belongs to one account. If you register with a number that is already another Member’s verified primary number, your number is marked Rejected a few hours later and you must enter a different one.
- Verify on WhatsApp (optional). At registration you can choose to verify your number by sending us one WhatsApp message from it; the message is already written for you and you press Send yourself. A message that reaches us from your registered number confirms that it is yours, and our team then marks it verified — no call is needed.
- How we verify. We call the number and ask the person who answers whether the number is theirs or whether they know the Member by name. That person may be a family member. If they do not acknowledge you, the number shows Verification failed and you must change it. A number that fails repeatedly, or that we believe is being misused, may be placed on a refusal list: it cannot be set again on the accounts that used it, and any other account that sets it is asked to call or message us from that very number before we verify it.
- Change limit. Each number (secondary, WhatsApp, and the primary until it is verified) can be changed at most 2 times in any 30 days, including a change made after a rejection.
- Best time to call. Once at least one of your numbers is verified you can tell Members who unlock you when to call — a separate time for your primary and your secondary number if both are verified.
6. Verification calls — and staying safe from impersonators
- A Tipda executive may call you on the primary and secondary mobile numbers and the WhatsApp number you have given us, only to verify that they belong to you or your family. When a number is shared with another Member’s account, we may ask the person who answers whether they know that Member by name.
- A Tipda executive will never ask you for any sensitive information. Never give it to anyone — including a person who says they are from Tipda.in.
- Sensitive information means, for example: your mobile number, email ID, password, OTP or PIN, photos or images, Aadhaar card, PAN card, fingerprints or fingerprint images, and anything related to your bank, such as ATM or net-banking passwords and card details.
- If a call, message or email feels suspicious, do not share anything. End the conversation and tell us at tipda.in@gmail.com.
7. Free features and Contact Unlock
- Creating a profile, the bio-data tool and browsing profiles are free.
- Contact details (such as phone and WhatsApp number and certain private details) are hidden until a Member pays for a Contact Unlock of that particular profile. At the time of writing the price is ₹49 per profile and the unlock is valid for 45 days from purchase; the price shown in the app at the time of purchase applies.
- What a Contact Unlock includes. The Member’s full name and the details shown under Contact Details on their profile: their verified email, verified primary mobile number and, if they gave them and they are verified, their secondary mobile number and WhatsApp number. The secondary and WhatsApp numbers are optional, so an unlocked profile may show one phone number and an email only. Unverified numbers are never shown. The email is the one the Member registered with; see Contact numbers for how numbers are set, verified and changed. The unlock gives you the contact details as they are available; it does not promise that a Member will reply on any channel.
- Payments are processed only by Google Play. We do not see or store your card or UPI details.
- An unlock is for personal use only. You must not copy, resell, publish or share the contact details of others.
- If the Member you unlocked makes their profile private (with the visibility switch) during your unlock period, you keep only what you paid for until the unlock expires (45 days from purchase): their name, email, phone number, WhatsApp number (if provided and verified), mool gaon, patti, gotra, rashi, birth details and best time to call. Everything that was free to see — the Tipda ID, photos and all other profile details — is hidden until they make the profile public again. No refund or extension is given for this; you still have the contact you paid for.
- If you make your own profile private, Members who have already unlocked you keep those paid contact details until their unlock period ends. Your photos and free details stop being visible to them. Only deleting your account removes your details from every Member — and from the moment you request deletion, your profile is private.
- Blocking or reporting works both ways and immediately ends what the other Member can see, regardless of any unlock.
- The unlock also ends when its validity ends, or earlier if the profile is deleted or removed. See the Refund & Cancellation page.
Kundli Milan (free)
- Kundli Milan is a free, automated calculation of the traditional Ashtakoota (36-guna) compatibility method, with the Bhakoot and Nadi dosh and a Manglik check, available to every registered Member in the app. You may enter the birth details of any bride and groom yourself, use your own profile’s birth details (“match with me”), or, for a Member whose contact you have unlocked, match the two profiles’ birth details directly (“Match our Kundli”).
- Information only. The result is produced by software from the date, time and place of birth entered, using published astronomical formulae and the Lahiri ayanamsa. It is indicative, for information and cultural interest only, and is not astrological, medical, legal or marital advice and not a recommendation by Tipda to marry or not to marry anyone. When a birth time is missing the result is marked as an estimate. Tipda does not verify any birth detail. Please consult a qualified astrologer and your family before taking any decision; Tipda accepts no liability for decisions taken on the basis of a Kundli Milan result.
- Birth details you type for another person must be entered with that person’s (or their family’s) knowledge, and used only for your own family’s matrimonial purpose. The place of birth is sent to a geocoding service to find approximate coordinates (see our Privacy Policy). Daily limits apply to prevent misuse.
8. Payments — official channels only
- Never entertain anyone who asks you for money in the name of Tipda or its services.
- Our payments are made online only, inside the official Tipda Android app. Download the app only from the Google Play Store; the link is on our official website, https://tipda.in.
- We never collect payment by bank transfer, cash, gift cards, UPI to a personal number, or through links sent on a call, SMS or WhatsApp.
- If someone asks you for money in our name, do not pay. Report it to tipda.in@gmail.com.
9. Photo upload terms
These terms apply every time you add, replace or reorder a photo. By uploading a photo you agree to all of the following.
1. Whose photo
- The photo must be of the bride-to-be or groom-to-be the profile is for — and no one else. Do not upload pictures of other people, such as friends, relatives, children or celebrities, or pictures of objects, scenery or deities in place of a person.
- Do not upload images taken from the internet, images that are AI-generated, or pictures edited so heavily that they misrepresent how you look.
- The person shown must be of the legal age for marriage. Pictures of anyone below that age are not allowed.
2. Clear face
- Your face must be clearly visible, front-facing and reasonably recent, in good light. No sunglasses, masks, hands or objects covering the face, and no heavy filters.
- Group photos should not be used as the main picture, because we cannot tell which person is you.
3. No obscene or offensive content
- No nudity, semi-nudity, sexually suggestive, obscene or pornographic images; no violent, hateful or otherwise offensive images; no pictures showing weapons or illegal activity.
- If you upload such content, your account will be suspended or removed, without refund, and we may report it to the authorities.
4. No contact details or promotion
- A photo must not carry any phone number, email address, social-media handle, website, QR code, watermark, advertisement or text overlay. This keeps contact details inside the paid unlock and protects you from spam.
5. Your rights and permission
- You confirm that you own the photo or have the right to use it, and that the person in it has agreed to it being shown on Tipda. You give Tipda a free, non-exclusive licence to store, resize, compress and display the photo to other Members for running the Service.
- To save space and data, photos are resized and compressed automatically when uploaded. Each photo must be within the size limit shown in the app, and each profile can hold only a limited number of photos.
6. Review before publishing
- Every photo is reviewed by our team before it is shown to other Members. We may reject, hide, reorder or remove any photo at our discretion, with or without giving a reason. We may also ask you for another photo to confirm that it is you.
7. No spam or misuse
- Do not abuse the upload feature by uploading too many photos, or by uploading and deleting photos again and again, or many times a day. We apply daily and per-profile limits, and may restrict uploads or suspend the account if they are misused.
8. Your photos are visible to other Members
- Once approved, your photos can be seen by other registered Tipda members. They are effectively public within the Service, and we have no control over how other people may use, save, screenshot or copy them. Tipda is not responsible for any misuse of your photos by others. Please upload only photos you are comfortable sharing, and report any misuse to us.
- You can delete a photo at any time. Copies that others have already saved, and copies in our encrypted backups (which are overwritten within about 90 days), may remain for some time.
Breaking any of these terms may lead to the photo being removed or the account being suspended, as described in section “Suspension and termination” below.
10. Content rules
You are solely responsible for everything you post. You must not post or send content that:
- is false, misleading, abusive, obscene, sexually explicit, defamatory, threatening or harassing;
- promotes hatred, discrimination or harm against any person or group;
- belongs to someone else or infringes anyone’s copyright, privacy or other rights — including photos of other people posted without their permission;
- contains links, phone numbers or social handles in places where they are not meant (for example, in the “About” text) to bypass the paid unlock;
- is spam, advertising, a commercial offer, a scam, or asks for money or financial help;
- involves a person under the legal marriageable age;
- is otherwise unlawful.
11. Prohibited conduct
- Do not use bots, scripts, scrapers or any automated means to access the Service, or try to bypass any limit, check or security measure.
- Do not attempt to access other Members’ data or accounts, or probe or disrupt our systems.
- Do not use the Service for any commercial activity, including acting as a marriage broker, without our written permission.
- Do not harass or pressure other Members.
12. Bio-data: create, download and share
These terms apply to everyone who uses the bio-data maker — registered members and guests alike.
Free for everyone
- Making a bio-data, choosing any of the four styles (Classic, Saffron, Himalayan, Minimal) in Hindi or English, downloading it as a PDF or image, and sharing it are all free. Nothing is charged for any of these.
- You do not need to register to make one, and it works without an internet connection.
Your bio-data, your responsibility
- The bio-data is built on your phone from the details you type. It is your own document.
- Tipda never reviews, checks, verifies or moderates a bio-data you create, download or share. Only the profile text and photos you choose to publish on Tipda go through review; the bio-data document itself is never sent to us for approval, and we do not see it.
- Everything written in it, and every photo or document you attach to it (such as a photo of your Tipda, Teep or Janampatri) — names, family details, kundli and birth details, contact numbers, photos, opinions and expectations — and its accuracy and legality, is entirely your responsibility. Tipda.in is not responsible for it.
- Do not put false, misleading, obscene or unlawful content, or anyone else’s details without their permission, in a bio-data.
- Think before you include phone numbers, addresses or other sensitive details. Anyone you send the bio-data to can keep, copy or forward it.
After you download or share it
- Once a bio-data leaves the app — by download, WhatsApp, email or any other way — Tipda has no control over it. We are not responsible for how others use, store, copy, forward or misuse it, or for any loss or dispute that follows.
- Each time you download or share, the app reminds you of this and links here.
13. Interactions between Members
Whatever Members say or do with each other is their own responsibility. Tipda does not screen, monitor or control these, and is not liable for any interaction, transaction, meeting, relationship or loss arising from them. Do not enter into financial dealings with other Members. Please read our Safety Tips.
14. Blocking and reporting
- Blocking is immediate and two-way: once you block a Member, neither of you sees the other in the feed, search, interests or shortlists until you unblock. A block also ends any interest or shortlist between you.
- Reporting hides the Member from you at once. When you report a Member, they disappear from your feed, search, interests and shortlists immediately, and a ticket is opened for our team without delay. The reported Member is not told who reported them.
- Taking a report back. You may withdraw a report only between 24 and 48 hours after making it, from Actions › Reported, and you must give a reason, which our team sees. Before 24 hours the report cannot be withdrawn (this stops reports being used as a threat); after 48 hours it is final. If the report is withdrawn and our team has not found the Member at fault, they become visible to you again.
- Our decision is final. If our team finds the reported Member at fault (for example fraud, impersonation or abuse), our hold or removal stands even if you withdraw your report. Reports, withdrawals and decisions are kept as the history of both Members.
- Misuse of reporting. We keep a count of each Member’s reports, how many our team found unfounded, and how many were withdrawn. Members who report excessively or falsely may themselves be reviewed, warned, put on hold or removed.
- You can also report any profile or conduct to us by email; see section 23.
15. Suspension and termination
- You may stop using Tipda and request deletion of your account at any time (see Delete Account).
- We may suspend, hide or terminate any account at any time if we believe these Terms are violated, if required by law, or to protect Members or the Service. Paid unlocks are not refunded in that case.
- We may end a profile after a marriage is announced or reported.
16. Disclaimers
Your responsibility to verify — their profile, their responsibility
Tipda is a platform on which Members publish information about themselves (or about the relative or friend they create a profile for). We are an intermediary: we make profiles and bio-data visible and let Members contact each other. We have no means of knowing, and we do not check, whether what a Member states is true. In particular, Tipda does not verify, and makes no representation about, any Member’s:
- identity — name, photos (that they are recent, unedited, or of the person), that the person exists, or that the profile is operated by the person it describes or by a family member with their consent;
- age, gender and date of birth, including that the person is of legal marriageable age;
- marital status — never married, divorced, widowed, separated, or that a divorce is final; the existence of children or dependants;
- physical appearance, height, complexion and body type;
- health — medical history, physical or mental condition, blood group, disability or any other health detail;
- education — degrees, institutions, qualifications or certificates;
- work, income and assets — employment, employer, business, job title, income, property or financial standing;
- family, community and lineage — caste, sub-caste, gotra, mool gaon, patti, religion, family members and their occupations;
- astrological details — rashi, nakshatra, manglik status, kundli, time and place of birth, or any Kundli Milan result (which is an automated, indicative calculation only, see section 7);
- character, background, intentions and conduct — criminal record, habits, past relationships, or the genuineness of their interest;
- contact details beyond our check — a “verified” number means only that someone answered that number for that Member when we called; it is not proof of identity or of who will answer later;
- documents attached by a Member to their own bio-data (kundli, certificates, ID) — these never reach us and are not checked.
Before any decision — meeting, sharing further details, engagement or marriage — you and your family must satisfy yourselves independently about all of the above, by meeting in person, speaking with the family, checking documents, and taking professional advice (legal, medical, financial or astrological) as you see fit. Information on Tipda is a starting point for your own enquiries, not a substitute for them. Tipda does not take part in, arrange, recommend or guarantee any match, meeting, relationship or marriage, and is not a party to any arrangement between Members or their families.
Each Member is solely responsible for what they publish (see sections 10 and 12). If you believe a profile is false or misleading, report it from the app; we will act on reports as described in section 14, but a report does not make us responsible for the content.
- We do not control, authenticate or guarantee the accuracy, completeness or currency of content posted by Members, and we accept no liability for any loss arising from reliance on it. Please verify information yourself and with family before acting on it (see above).
- Profiles you see, shortlist or receive an interest from are not a matrimonial offer or recommendation by Tipda.
- The Service is provided “as is”. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service and are not responsible for failures of networks, servers, devices or third-party services.
- We do not promise any particular result or compatibility. A Kundli Milan result is an automated, indicative calculation only (see section 7) and is not advice of any kind.
17. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Tipda will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. The most we can ever owe you for any claim is the amount you paid to Tipda, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.
18. Indemnity
You agree to hold Tipda harmless from any claim, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
19. Intellectual property
The Tipda name, logo, design, app and software belong to us. You keep ownership of your own content, but you give Tipda a free, non-exclusive licence to store, display and process it as needed to run the Service, including showing it to other Members as per your visibility choices.
20. Privacy
How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
21. Notices and changes
We may update these Terms and our Privacy Policy from time to time. We post the new version here with a new “last updated” date, and every registered Member is told in the app: a notice appears on your Profile and Discover screens with a summary and a link to the changed text, and we send a notification. The notice stays until you tap “Got it”. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
22. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
23. Grievance Officer
In line with the IT Rules, 2021, complaints about content or the Service can be sent to the Grievance Officer, Tipda at tipda.in@gmail.com. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days. The address is on the Contact page.
24. General
These Terms, with the Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation page, are the whole agreement between you and Tipda. If any part is found invalid, the rest stays in force. Not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it.
